Education Ministry
...................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Right from the beginning Education Ministry had a prominent place. At first our founder began the congregation with the Teaching Sisters of Holy Cross at Menzingan. But immediately due to the effects of war, reading the signs of the time Fr. Theodosius started another congregation known as Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross who would be engaged in works of mercy. Hence Sr. Theresa was called from the teaching sisters to run the hospital at Chur who later became the mother general and the co- founder of the congregation of Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross.

The Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross entered Bettiah, North Bihar in 1894. The first seed sown in Bettiah grew into a large tree in Bihar's educational field. Further it stretched out its branches to the rest of Bihar, and later to the central and southern parts of India.
